The childhood home of Doncaster television star Jeremy Clarkson is on the market - for a cool £600,000.

The idyllic country home where the Top Gear host spent his formative years has been up for sale for more than two years - and has yet to receive a single offer.

And petrolheads might be disappointed as the property, Home Farm at Burghwallis, has just one small garage.

The four-bedroom property is also the birthplace of Paddington Bear.

For it was in the home’s kitchen that Clarkson’s mum Shirley first created a stuffed toy version of the children’s television favourite, later turning her hobby into a multi-million pound businesses which saw the cuddly figures sold across the globe.

The family lived there during the 1970s and the house, situated in open countryside and with stunning views, is now on the market for £595,000 through York-based estate agents Jackson-Stops.
