Doncaster Rovers are backing a campaign for football fans to give domestic abuse the red card.

Safer Doncaster Partnership is launching its appeal with posters saying ‘Foul Mood? Show domestic abuse the red card!’ placed all around the Keepmoat Stadium ready for Euro 2012.

Coun Cynthia Ransome, cabinet member for communities, said: “Sadly, domestic abuse rises sharply during international football tournaments.

“We hope that these eye-catching posters will make people think about their behaviour and seek help.”

Gavin Baldwin, chief executive of Doncaster Rovers, said: “Doncaster Rovers are delighted to be supporting this campaign.

“We want to help spread the message as widely as possible that there is no excuse for domestic abuse.”
