Flat fire caused by tumble drier

Firefighters were called to tackle a blaze in a flat at Parkgate, Rotherham after a tumble drier caught fire.

Crews extinguished the fire in the kitchen of the flat on Rawarsh Hill at 10.35pm on Tuesday.

The male occupant in his early 20s and friends evacuated the flat after they were alerted by a smoke alarm.
