Fire at Doncaster school

Staff at Hall Cross Academy, Doncaster, are busy with a clean-up operation today after a fire at the Thorne Road site.

But the school is expected to be open as normal on Monday after the end of half-term.

One of the food technology rooms was discovered to be on fire by cleaners and the building was evacuated.

The room suffered severe damage and other classrooms were affected by water. The cause is still under investigation.
