A Traidcraft Big Brew soup lunch at Ealand will raise funds for the Fair Trade charity.
The event will mark Fair Trade Fortnight which lasts until March 8. The soup lunch will be £4 and there will be stalls including Traidcraft goods and a raffle for a Fair Trade hamper.
It takes place at Ealand Gate, 1 Outgate, Ealand near Crowle, between 11.30am and 2pm on March 1. This year, Fair Trade Fortnight is all about bananas, the most popular fruit in the world.
Event spokeswoman Ann Hindley said: “In the UK, we munch our way through 5 million bananas each year. In 2012, we spent over £550 million on bananas.
“One in three bananas sold in British shops is Fair Trade but there is still a long way to go.
“Fair Trade Fortnight is launching a special campaign to celebrate bananas and focus on the changes needed so that millions more banana growers can get a fairer deal for their work.”
She added: “There is no guarantee of banana soup but the public are invited to come and sample and buy Fair Trade products, find out more about Fair Trade bananas, and help raise some money to go towards the work of the Fair Trade Foundation.”
