Elderly woman hurt in Cantley car collision

A PENSIONER was left with a fractured foot and serious injuries after being involved in a collision with a car yesterday.

A silver Nissan Micra, driven by a 20-year-old woman, was travelling along Warning Tongue Lane in Cantley and heading towards Doncaster prior to the collision.

Around 10m north of Gleneagles Drive it is believed an 88-year-old woman, dressed in dark clothing, was crossing the road when the collision happened at around 5.40pm.

The Cantley pensioner suffered fractures to her foot and was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

The Micra driver, of Bessacarr, was not injured.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 986 of November 1.
