Police are investigating after a taxi driver reported being robbed of his takings by a group of men who had flagged down his cab.
The 28-year-old taxi driver picked up five men in Princess Street, Doncaster, just before 2.30am on Saturday, January 11.
While on the way to Bawtry, one of the suspects claimed to feel sick and asked the driver to stop outside Mount Pleasant Hotel in Bawtry Road.
The driver has reported that he was then threatened with a knife and told to hand over his cash.
The five suspects ran off with the money across the hotel car park and into surrounding fields, in the direction of Rossington.
The victim, who was driving a white Citroen Dispatch, was not hurt.
Detectives are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident, saw the suspects as they ran off or has information about the robbery.
One of the suspects was white, of medium to large build and was wearing dark clothing.
Another of the men was white, aged between 20 and 22 years old, between 5ft 10ins and 6ft tall, with short, messy hair. He was wearing a light coloured, short sleeved top and dark blue jeans.
Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to call South Yorkshire Police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting incident number 161 of January 11 2013.
