Doncaster crime round-up: Thieves target charity base; Vandals attack school

The following crimes were reported on Monday April 14 and Tuesday April 15. Anyone with information, please call police on 101.

Thorne: Thieves stole garden equipment from a Doncaster charity in a raid on its premises. They stole a wheelbarrow, fertiliser and hand tools from the walled garden at Autism Plus, on St Nicholas Road, Thorne. The facility is intended to provide a peaceful area for the charity’s clients. The theft was between Monday April 7 and Wednesday April 9

Belle Vue: Vandals smashed a window at Lakeside Primary School in a criminal damage attack. Police believe they used a brick, causing £500 worth of damage. It happened between 6.30am on Friday and 8am Monday.

Rossington: A mobile phone and cash were stolen from a house on King George’s Road, after the occupant went out without locking the door. They had gone out for around 15 minutes when burglars struck at between 10.30am and 10.45 am on Monday.

Rossington: Burglars broke into a house on Clay Flat Lane between Sunday at 10am and Monday at 3.30am, by breaking a cylinder lock in the rear patio doors. Property including a television, a video games console, jewellery and an MP3 player were stolen.

Cantley: Jewellery worth an estimated £20,000 was stolen from a house on St Wilfrid’s Close between 12.15pm and 1.10pm after a rear door was forced open by burglars. Police investigating the raid say there were two white males, aged 20 to 25, seen near the house. Both were described as stocky. One wore a full grey tracksuit, the other wore khaki yellow trousers, say officers.

Edenthorpe: Burglars stole jewellery from a house on Doncaster Road after getting into the property by smashing a window. A computer and jewellery were taken in the raid between 7.15am and 8.30am.

Thorne: A shed was broken into on Waterside between 8.30pm on Sunday and 6am on Monday. Nothing was taken.

Thorne: Thieves who broke into a shed on King Edward Road stole a lawn mower, between midday on Tuesday April 1 and 8.30pm on Monday, April 14.

Thorne: A padlock was smashed on a shed at Snake Lane in a suspected attempted break-in, between 1pm on Sunday and 8am Monday Nothing was stolen, say police.

Intake: Tools were stolen from a van at Queensbury Road, between 1.45pm and 2pm on Monday afternoon. The van was not locked at the time, say police.
