Doncaster crime round-up: Goat thieves strike; School raided by thieves

The following crimes were reported on May 6 and May 7. Anyone with information call South Yorkshire Police on 101.

Conisbrough: Thieves struck at de Warenne Academy on Tuesday night. Around £100 worth of plants were taken from the grounds of the school, on Gardens Lane.

Fishlake: A thief drove off after grabbing a goat and stashing it into the back of his car. The animals were being reared in a field when the thief arrived at 1pm on Tuesday. The rest of the animals ran away when the car arrived. Police are looking for a black hatchback car in connection with the incident.

Tickhill: A Cancer Research charity box was stolen from the Juicy Fruit shop on Castle Gate, Tickhill. It was taken at 3.30pm on Tuesday.

Bentley: Thieves took a £450 mountain bike from outside the Tesco Express store on High Street at 8.30pm on Tuesday. It was not locked, say police. The thief was described as a white male in his 30s, of thin build and with blond hair.

Bentley: A child’s BMX bike, valued at £200, was stolen from the front garden of a home on French Street, between 4pm and 4.30pm on Tuesday. It was not locked.

Balby: A sports holdall was stolen from a car on Brander Close in the early hours of Tuesday. The car was not locked. Police are looking at CCTV pictures.

Bentley: Thieves broke into a car at Cenurion Way. They smashed a window in the Chevrolet vehicle. The car was searched but nothing was stolen.

Armthorpe: The wing mirrors were stolen from a black Audi car on Charles Crescent on Monday night. Police think they may have been taken for spare parts.

Wheatley: A care worker was stopped in her tracks on her rounds when a thief stole her motor scooter. Police are investigating the theft of the Peugeot, registration DG53HNZ, between 7.20am and 8.45am. It was taken while it was left outside an address on Cranbooke Road, Wheatley.

Bentley: A silver Honda motorbike was stolen from a car park on High Street between 7.30pm on Saturday and 4pm on Sunday.

Bentley: Two ornamental chimney pots were stolen from a garden at a house on Marsh Road. They were taken between 10pm Monday and 4pm Tuesday.

Bentley: Six ornate square chimney pots were taken from the garden of a house on Wrightson Terrace between Monday 11.30pm and Tuesday 8.20am. They were painted bright red.

Balby/Hexthorpe/Warmsworth: Metal gulley covers were reported as being stolen from several streets on Tuesday. They were valued at £1,700.

Balby: An arson attack was reported at Carr View Avenue at around 2am on Monday. A pile of rubbish had been set alight and caused damage to the rear of two properties
