Dog left bleeding in jewellery raid

CRIME: Crime scene.

A DOG was left bleeding in a shed after burglars stole gold and jewellery worth a “considerable amount” from a Conisbrough house.

The dog was left cowering outside the house in Ivanhoe Road after thieves smashed their way in.

Police said it was unclear whether its injuries were caused deliberately or as the result of the broken glass.

The thieves gained entry to the terraced house between 1.30pm and 1.45pm on January 15 and moved through all the rooms until they discovered the jewellery upstairs.

The family involved, who had been out at the time were too upset to talk about the raid.

An emergency vet was called to treat the injured dog which was recovering from its ordeal this week.
