This jolly lot certainly look happy to play doctors and nurses.

The picture was taken at Crowle Show in 1989 and is sure to have been a popular attraction.

This picture is one of a number of old pictures depicting scenes and events in the Isle of Axholme that we have in our possession.

The snap is one of several in a batch we discovered during a recent office clear out of documents and old newspapers.

They came in a folded sheet of paper, which states ‘To return to Harold Osborne’ - the Crowle and Ealand Town councillor, who could not be contacted this week.

He is however pictured above in a fetching nurses’ outfit on the far left.

We at the Epworth Bells would love to hear from anyone who featured in the picture.

We would particularly like to identify the ‘Mad V.I.P.’ holding up the ‘Doctor Who?’ sign on the right.

Other pictures in Mr Osborne’s collection include residents having fun at Crowle Show in 1989 and at village gatherings.

Chris Page, content editor for the Epworth Bells, said: “Anyone who wants to share old pictures with us, please get in touch.”
