Dining under the wings of a Vulcan plane will be the undoubted highlight for guests attending Doncaster Business Month.

Robin Hood Airport is reinforcing its position at the heart of the regional business community by hosting two events for Doncaster Chamber of Commerce next month.

The Airport, which is a Patron of the Doncaster Chamber of Commerce, will play host to a Breakfast Briefing event on February 14, 8.30am until 10.30am, which will focus on the UK economy. Later this month the Chamber is holding a Patron’s Dinner at the airport where they will eat in the famous Vulcan’s shadow.

The event on February 14 is being held on the back of the Bank of England’s latest quarterly inflation report. Deputy Agent for the Bank of England, Will Holman, is a guest speaker and will describe the overall health of the UK drawing on various economic indicators, making specific reference to the Quarterly Inflation Report.

Assistant director for Regeneration, Scott Cardwell, will also be in attendance at the event along with Steve Gill from Robin Hood Airport and Dan Fell, deputy CEO of Doncaster Chamber. Following the presentation from Will Holman, a Q&A session on the future of the local and regional economy will be hosted, with a view to the Q&A being closer to home.

The cost to attend this event is £10 excluding VAT for both chamber members and non-members.

Later in the month on February 26 the Airport is hosting a special invite for the Chamber Patrons Dinner in the Vulcan Hangar. The dinner will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to get close and personal with the last flying Vulcan at Robin Hood Airport.

The plane is the last airworthy Avro Vulcan XH558, a Cold War delta-wing bomber that first left the ground over half a century ago. Dinners at the event will enjoy their meal under the wings of the Vulcan in her hangar.

Managing director at Robin Hood Airport, Steve Gill, said: “We work very closely with the Doncaster Chamber of Commerce to showcase the business opportunities within Doncaster to the wider region and beyond.

“Doncaster Business Month is an important series of events and a focal point for businesses right across the Borough and it is a pleasure to be hosting the two events here at the airport.

“We look forward to welcoming guests to both the breakfast briefing and patrons dinner and I am sure the delegates and patrons will enjoy their time with us and they will be very successful events.”
