DROWNED IN THE BATH
Times EXCLUSIVE A PRETTY Polish bakery worker was most likely drowned in the bath in her flooded flat, it was revealed yesterday.
An inquest heard that the distraught boyfriend of 30-year-old Agnieszka Dziegielewska called police to the flat behind Temperance Street, Swinton, when he could not get an answer from her. Cops broke in and found Agnieszka dead in the bath.
Rotherham Coroner's Court was told yesterday that the cause of her death would most likely be: "compression injuries and drowning".
Police family liaison officer, Det Con Alan Marshall outlined the circumstances of the woman's death. He told the court that her body would not yet be released to her grieving relatives – who have flown over from Poland – because a second post-mortem "was likely".
Neighbours revealed to the Times that tens of gallons of water had been seen flooding from under Agnieszka's door for almost a DAY, before police entered the flat.
An hour before the inquest began, a Persian man from Mexborough appeared in court to face a charge of murdering her.
Hossein Abdollahzadeh, 32, from Maple Road, had to speak through a Farsi interpreter.
Wearing a white T-shirt and glasses, he spoke only to confirm his name.
He will appear next at Sheffield Crown Court tomorrow (Friday).
