Crime round-up - Builder challenges Sprotbrough burglars

The following crimes were reported to police on June 23. Anyone with information call South Yorkshire Police on 101.

Sprotbrough: A builder working on Melton Road about 2pm yesterday challenged two men aged about 23 who fled after dropping a bag contaning a computer games console and games. They had been stolen from a nearby house where a window was forced. One man was 5ft 7ins with blond shaved hair and the other was 5ft 10ins, of medium build, with short brown hair.

Tickhill: The occupants of a property in Dadsley Road went indoors after several hours in the garden yesterday to discover a sneak-in raider had got in through the insecure door and stolen a box of jewellery.

Balby: A television was stolen from a house in Cookson Street by intruders who got in through an insecure window.

Wheatley Hills: A flatscreen TV was placed on a trolley and wheeled away by burglars who forced entry to the Jasmine Centre at Doncaster Royal Infirmary over the weekend.

Rossington: Burglars broke into the garage of a house on Aisby Drive on Sunday night and stole a green Honda quad bike.

Woodlands: The window of a Citroen Berlingo parked in Lawn Avenue was smashed and a £150 satnav stolen.

Balby: The owner of a bicycle padlocked it outside a house in Ronald Road but returned to find the saddle and both wheels had been stolen.

Bentley: A triple set of ladders were stolen from outside a house in Asquith Road early today.

Rossington: An ornamental tree valued at £45 was stolen from the garden of a house in Coxwood Court on Saturday night.

Bentley: Arsonists who set fire to rubbish in the grounds of Bentley Methodist Church on Chapel Street caused damage to the drainpipes and cracked a double-glazed window.
