Crime round-up April 28: Break-in at football club

The following crimes were reported to South Yorkshire Police on April 27 and 28. Anyone with information call South Yorkshire Police on 101.

Rossington: Would-be thieves tried to break into Rossington Main FC’s base on Oxford Street, Rossington, in the early hours of Monday. They cut a hole into the wall of the mobile building, used by the Northern Counties East Division One site but set off an alarm. They are thought to have fled without taking anything.

Mexborough: Fish were stolen from a pond in Elm Road between Thursday 8pm and Friday 8am. Police say they do not know why the fish, valued at £60, were stolen.

Hyde Park: Thieves removed bricks from a garage on Chequer Road to get inside and steal a £750 mountain bike. The black Fuji Nevada was taken between 8pm on Saturday and 11.30am Sunday.

Armthorpe: Electrical tools were stolen from a store shed on Pinewood Avenue between 1pm and 10.30pm on Sunday. The thieves had removed hinges anf took items including a saw and a drill.

Dunscroft: Three mountain bikes and angling equipment were taken by thieves who broke into a shed on Durham Road between 3am and 8am on Sunday. They had forced the locks off the shed.

Dunscroft: Hand tools and gardening equipment were stolen from a shed on the allotments at The Oval, Dunscroft, between Sunday April 20 and Sunday April 27. The equipment was valued at around £150.

Thorne: Thieves stole a £250 mountain bike after it had been left unlocked in the garden at a house on Southfield Road, Thorne, between 10.30pm on Saturday and 2.30pm on Sunday.

Scawsby: Two people in dark clothing are wanted by police after stealing copper piping from a roof box on the top of a Ford Transit van as it was parked at Windsor Walk. The two were spotted as they did it, say officers. The incident was at 1.24am on Saturday.

Campsall: The bonnet was removed from a Land Rover Defender in a suspected attemtped theft on High Street. The suspects ran off after setting off an alarm at 2am Saturday, leaving the bonnet on the ground.

Carcroft: Solar lights were stolen from a garden on Borrowdale Close at around 12.45amm on Monday. Two males aged around 15 were seen stealing the lights and described as slim build with dark hair.

Cantley: Six fence panels were taken by thieves from a house on Ansten Crescent. It happened between 12noon on Saturday and 10.30am on Sunday.

Edenthorpe: Hanging baskets were stolen from a house Oakdale Road. The ornaments, taken between 9pm on Saturday and 10am on Sunday, were valued at £80.
