Fire Engine on call

AN INVESTIGATION is under way after fire crews spent eight hours tackling a stack of burning railway sleepers.

Four fire crews battled the blaze which caught hold of 200 railway sleepers in Sandall Lane in Kirk Sandall from 10.45pm.

Firefighters were still dousing the flames at about 7am today.

No-one was injured in the fire and a probe is now under way into how it started.
