hyde PARK: A Donny drinker is in bad spirits after being fined for being drunk and disorderly. Matthew Andrew Hartley, 33, of Chequer Road, admitted the offence that happened on August 23 in Thorne Road. Hartley was made the subject of a drink banning order and ordered to pay £165.

mexborough: A thief is doing time after stealing a watch. Keith Alan Oxley, 40, of Cedar Avenue, admitted taking the watch and a barometer to the value of £230 from Ernest Jones on August 17. Oxley was handed a 16 week prison sentence.

Bentley: A Doncaster man was accused of foul play after destroying a chicken take-away window. Luke James Spencer, 21, of Broughton Avenue, admitted causing the damage to the window of Dixi Chicken in Silver Street on June 23. He was made the subject of a community order and ordered to pay £300 in compensation by magistrates.

hyde PARK: A banana thief did not split before police arrived on the scene. Peter Andrew Meloy, 30, of St James’ Street, admitted taking the fruit and some meat products to the value of £28.35 from Tesco on August 21. Meloy was ordered to comply with a community order and must abide by a six week curfew as a result.

Bentley: A meat thief has been jailed after stealing from a supermarket. Trevor Martin Smith, 30, of Askern Road, was handed a six week sentence after admitting taking nearly £70 of meat from Tesco in Church View on August 30. Smith was given an additional 61 day sentence as the offence was committed during a term of imprisonment.
