Scales of Justice

THE following people have appeared at Doncaster Magistrates’ Court and have been charged with the following offences.

BALBY: A bag snatcher was sent to prison for 12 weeks because of his dishonest history. Doncaster Magistrates’ Court ruled that Richard Hurn, 37, of Earlsmere Avenue, should be put behind bars after admitting to taking a woman’s bag on August 4.

BALBY: A 33-year-old must carry out 160 hours unpaid work after he was found to be disorderly and threatening in public. Craig Lee Metcalf, of Balby Road, pleaded guilty to the offence which happened on May 7.

CARCROFT: Paying out £320 was hardly a smashing time for a 31-year-old who damaged a kitchen window. Anthony Edward Roe, of Repton Road, pleaded guilty to the incident on July 22. He received a restraining order which included not to contact the owner whose window he smashed or go to their home. Roe was fined £70, ordered to pay £150 compensation and £100 in costs.

CONISBROUGH: Cameron James Dixon was left with a heavy price to pay after having no insurance while driving. The 19-year-old, of Ivanhoe Road, admitted to the March 8 offence. The teenager was fined £110 and ordered to pay £50 costs.

HIGHFIELDS: It was suds law for one thief who was caught nicking Ariel washing up liquid. The bubble of Barry Steven Eggington, 34, of Market Street, well and truly burst when he pleaded guilty to taking £25.74 worth of the product from B and M Stores on July 17. Eggington was given a curfew to remain at his home between 7.30pm and 6am for eight weeks.
