Courses in computing

TECHNOPHOBES are being offered the chance to learn basic computer skills at courses in Barnsley.

Run by Barnsley Council’s Adult Learning Service, the free three-week taster course has been designed for anyone who would like to know the basics of how to use a computer.

Learners will be able to develop their confidence and skills, learning how to use a mouse and keyboard to create Microsoft Word documents, format text, insert images, save and print documents.

The course is available at the Wombwell Centre on Barnsley Road on Wednesdays (10, 17 and 24 October) from 12.30pm to 2.30pm and the Emmanuel Church, Huddersfield Road, Barnsley, on Tuesdays 9, 16 and 23 October from 9.30am to 11.30am.
