A CONISBROUGH man was taken to hospital after an alleged assault outside a nightclub in Rotherham.

The 22-year-old is believed to have had a disagreement with a group of four men and was attacked at the bottom of Ship Hill, at the side of Hedonism nightclub.

One of the group is alleged to have punched the Conisbrough man in the face and another hit him after he fell to the ground.

Police said a third man kicked him in the face.

The fourth man in the group allegedly punched the man’s brother in the face.

Following the incident, at 1am on December 21, the victim was taken to Rotherham District General Hospital with a fractured cheekbone, and required an operation for his facial injuries.

Police have arrested two men, aged 20 and 22, in connection with the incident, but would like to trace two other men who reportedly left the scene. They have released CCTV images of the pair.

One is described as a white man with short, dark brown or black hair, of medium build. He is believed to have been wearing a dark top with blue jeans.

The second is described as being a white man with very short light blond hair, of stocky build. He is believed to have been wearing a dark top with blue jeans.

Anyone with information, or who believes they may have witnessed the incident, should contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 46 of 21 December, 2012.
