Chip pan leads to kitchen fire

A PENSIONER fled her Doncaster home after a chip pan caught fire in her kitchen.

The woman, from Weston Road, Balby, was alerted to the blaze by smoke alarms which had been fitted recently by firefighters.

The blaze caused extensive damage to the area around the cooker in her kitchen, said a fire service spokesman.
