Barnardo’s is appealing for people in Doncaster to consider giving up a little of their spare time to raise money to help vulnerable children.
The children’s charity is looking for people to become fundraising volunteers in their local community and help raise cash to support Barnardo’s projects across the town that work with disadvantaged children, young people and their families.
The role could involve placing collection boxes in the local community; or counting donations raised by schools and generally inspiring others about the work of Barnardo’s in the local community.
Community fundraising volunteer manager, Amanda Warrent, said: “Volunteering with Barnardo’s is a great way to meet new people and help others at the same time. By giving us a little of your spare time, you can also gain invaluable experience that could provide a stepping stone to a new career or add to your personal statement for college or university. It’s an opportunity to have some fun by joining the local Barnardo’s team in your community.”
Barnardo’s volunteers - who are all ages and come from all walks of life - are given training and on-going support.
