Six children had a lucky escape from a Doncaster arson attack last night.
The children, aged from five to 15, were inside a house in Acacia Road, Skellow, when someone set fire to the back door just before 8.30pm.
Fortunately one of them smelled smoke and they were able to get out of the front door unharmed, before a smoke alarm was triggered.
Firefighters from Doncaster and Adwick stations wore breathing apparatus to enter the house to check to see if anyone else was inside but the children were all out.
A fire service spokesman confirmed the fire was being treated as deliberate ignition.
Police are investigating the arson.
