Men police want to trace following boxing show disorder in Barnslley in September 2013

Police have issued CCTV images of men they want to trace following a mass brawl during a boxing match in South Yorkshire.

Spectators clashed in the crowd at the Metrodome in Barnsley last September – forcing the event to be abandoned.

Violence flared after boxing fans began hurling missiles including bottles and chairs. At least two people were cut on their heads.

Some spectators were injured during the disturbance and police investigating the trouble seized camera footage from organisers who were filming the boxing show.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “A number of people were involved in the altercation, which happened inside the leisure complex in Queens Road at about 10.20pm on Friday, September 20, last year.

“A 46-year-old man suffered serious head injuries during the disorder and spent several days in hospital as a result.”

Officers have so far made just one arrest over the incident.

The suspect quizzed about the disorder was bailed pending further inquiries.

n Anyone with information about any of the men in the CCTV stills should call South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 1,265 of September 20.
