Cancer campaign launches in Mexborough

A PILOT campaign to raise awareness of ovarian cancer and its symptoms has been launched in Mexborough.

The town is one of seven areas chosen as part of a project between Doncaster CVS and the North Trent Cancer Network.

The Ovarian Cancer Awareness Campaign launched yesterday and will target women aged 50 to 74 living in and around Mexborough.

Nazia Sattar, a community development worker with Doncaster CVS, said: “We’ll be heading out to meet with local women and delivering a short presentation about ovarian cancer.”

Two drop in sessions offering advice and support have been organised to take place at Mexborough Library. They will be on Wednesday, January 23, and Monday, February 4, from 10am to noon.
