THE teenager who died after being hit by a train last night has been named as Daniel Clements.

The 15-year-old, known to his friends as Danny, was hit by the train at a crossing close to Toad Hole Lane in Rossington at around 9.25pm last night and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Facebook groups have already been set up in Danny’s memory, with hundreds of people paying their respects.

A statement has been released by McAuley Catholic High School where Danny was a student.

The statement said: “It is with great sadness that I need to inform you that one of our pupils, Daniel Clements, was tragically killed on the railway line in Rossington yesterday evening.

“Please pray for Daniel, his family, friends and the school community.

“Daniel is in our thoughts and prayer at this time.”
