BREAKING NEWS: Man charged with murder over flat fire death

A 25-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with murder following the death of a man in a house fire.

Jay Griffiths, 25 of Highbury Avenue, Doncaster, has been charged with murdering 40-year-old Andrew Massarella, who was found dead following a fire at his flat at Middleham Road in Cantley in the early hours of Christmas Eve.

Fire crews were called out to the blaze and discovered Mr Massarella’s body along with the body of his dog Kane.

Police have just received new information on the case though which has led to the arrest and charging of Griffiths, formerly known as Jonathan Hancock on Wednesday.

Griffiths is due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on Friday.
