Boy breaks leg in crash near The Dome

A BOY has been seriously injured when he was knocked down on a pedestrian crossing outside The Dome.

The 12-year-old was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary with a broken leg after the force of the impact with a Peugeot 206 threw him on to the bonnet, police said.

Officers believe the boy collided with the car when he ran across the pedestrian crossing between Asda and the leisure centre in Gliwice Way.

He was detained in hospital overnight.

The Peugeot was travelling towards Bawtry Road from Lakeside Boulevard. The driver, a 22-year-old Rossington man was not injured, police said.

The collision happened at about 5.40pm on Friday.

Call police on 101 quoting incident number 816 of January 27 with information.
