Boxers pack a punch!

STAFF at Dearne Valley College have been celebrating two of their former students winning gold at the London 2012 Olympics.

Boxers Anthony Joshua, 22, from London, and Luke Campbell, 24, from Hull, studied alongside 14 others for their fitness instructor qualifications whilst training at the English Institute of Sport (EIS) in Sheffield.

Joshua won gold in the Superheavyweight Final and Campbell took home gold in the Bantamweight division.

Mick Blythe, DVC Sport and Physical Recreation Tutor, said:

“We’re extremely proud of Luke and Anthony’s achievements – their hard work and determination has paid-off.

“They are a true inspiration to young people and we’re pleased to have played a part in their Olympic legacy.”
