AN Avon rep with a difference is coming to a street near you!

Steve Morris, 40, was the first male Avon representative on his team when he started with the popular cosmetics company which he says ‘raised some eyebrows’ with people.

“When I first started I think people were quite surprised to open their door to an Avon man, but as my reputation grew I think a lot of the ladies liked it, and some would make a joke of telling everyone they were ‘waiting for their Avon man to call,” said Steve.

He started selling Avon products in December 2011 but since then has been promoted to advanced sales leader and built up a team of over 50 representatives including five men.

He added: “I think the other men on my team would agree that being an Avon man doesn’t put people off but instead gives you a hook, which means that people don’t forget you!”

While most of us are used to seeing an Avon woman on the doorstep, Avon figures show that 5.3 per cent of their direct sales representatives are male, which they expect to increase to 25 per cent by the end of this year.
