A Doncaster beauty expert is leading the hunt for the town’s hunkiest men.
In celebration of National Men’s Grooming Day, founded by leading international men’s grooming company American Crew, taking place this year on August 16, Meadowhall Shopping Centre is commencing their search to crown one lucky gentleman Best Groomed Man 2013.
To enter, men must post a photo (selfie) of themselves by tweeting @LoveMeadowhall by midnight on August 11 using the hashtag #bestgroomedman2013.
Or, people can nominate their partner, relative or friend for the title by tweeting a photo of them.
On August 12, Doncaster beauty expert Blondie will be judging the entries with Scott Bradshaw of Alan Paul Hairstylists in Meadowhall and selecting a shortlist of five finalists.
Scott Bradshaw from Alan Paul Hairstylists in Meadowhall comments: “What better way to celebrate National Men’s Grooming Day than crowning Meadowhall’s very own Best Groomed Male!
“At the salon we encourage both men and women to try out new looks – and with more men experimenting with colour - and the male perms set to return - there are plenty of styles that men can try.”
Beauty expert Blondie commented: “When judging the entries, we will be looking to ensure well groomed facial hair, clear skin and good hair. It will then be over to the public to vote for their winner by liking their favourite best groomed man on Facebook.”
Meadowhall’s Best Groomed Man 2013 will be announced on August 16 and will receive a male grooming prize worth over £250, including 6 styling sessions at Alan Paul and £100 worth of American Crew male grooming goodies - as well as the accolade of being crowned Meadowhall’s Best Groomed Man 2013.
Male grooming is a fast growing sector, with research indicating that men ‘up North’ have the most sophisticated skincare routines. Research also shows a reported one in ten men wear makeup, with one in three spending over 20 minutes ‘looking the part’ before heading out.
