Barnsley College students found out how to put on a peach of a party – with a little help from online clothing store ASOS.
The company arranged event-planning workshops, with help from All Star Entertainment, for foundation learners at the Fleets campus, Smithies Lane.
The aim was to boost the teenagers’ employablility skills with support from one of the town’s biggest employers.
The students then put their skills into action by organising a Pamper Party, offering beauty treatments, including hair curling and straightening, nail art and braids.
Kathryn Ellis, course leader, said: “The students worked really hard to organise the Pamper Party and it’s been a great experience for them. It brings the salon to life when we have clients in for our students to work on.”
Student Mary Mulvenna, aged 17, said: “Taking part in this project has given me a positive view of what coming to college can offer.”
