Badges for heart unit plea

BADGES are going on sale to raise money to fund an appeal against the decision to close the children’s heart unit in Leeds, which is used by families in the Dearne.

Shopping centres and supermarkets will have some 10,000 badges on sale next month.

Save Our Surgery is selling the badges in the run-up to its High Court case in February challenging the decision to close the unit.

The closure of the heart unit would result in ill children, and their parents and carers, having to travel over 100 miles for treatment.
