Arsonists torch Mexborough building
Fire Engine on call
A BLAZE at a derelict building in Mexborough was started deliberately.
Crews from the Dearne station attended the fire, that was started in the basement of a two-storey building on Leach Lane after 9pm last night.
A fire service spokesman said: “Piled-up rubbish and timber had been set on fire and smoke had spread through the building. It was definitely a deliberate fire, but fortunately in this case it put no-one nearby at risk.”
Anyone who sees activity that they feel is suspicious, should call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. Calls remain anonymous.
