British Transport Police (BTP) is appealing for help from the public to identify a man they would like to speak to in connection with the theft of a bag from WHSmiths at Doncaster railway station.
Officers have today released CCTV of a man they would like to speak regarding the theft which happened at 2.20pm on Monday, December 9 last year.
Investigating officer, Pc Richard Soare of British Transport Police, said: “The man entered the store prior to the theft and spent approximately 20 minutes looking around. He then left and returned a short while later, went into the back office and stole a member of staff’s bag before fleeing.
“The bag, a black satchel with a large union jack emblem on the front, contained the victim’s bank and credit cards, house keys and a folder containing financial information about the store. I’d urge anyone who may recognise the man pictured to come forward and help this investigation.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact BTP on 0800 40 50 40 quoting background reference NEA/B3 of 6/01/2014.
Information can also be passed to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
