It’s celebrations before Christmas at The Axholme Academy thanks to a great Ofsted report that highlights “outstanding” maths work.
In this first inspection since the school became an academy, education watchdogs found much to praise, and judged every area to be good from leadership to quality of teaching.
The academy’s GCSE results in maths this year were among the top one per cent of schools nationally. Inspectors noted achievement in the subject that pulls many schools down to be outstanding.
Principal Joe Sellars was elated with the report that hinted at the academy’s near-miss of an over all outstanding edict. He said: “This is the best report that this school has ever received. I want to thank parents, staff and students for playing such an important portant part in securing an enormously positive outcome.
