Agency warns of further flooding

THE Environment Agency is warning of a continued risk of surface water and river flooding today across the region.

Areas across the borough including Stainforth, Sprotbrough and Swinton as well as Crowle were understood to have been affected by the downpours as the agency has warned there are currently 17 flood warnings and 37 flood alerts in place for Yorkshire and the North East.

Further flood alerts and flood warnings may be issued, so communities are urged to be vigilant.
