COURT: Court Case

COURT: Court Case

A 55-YEAR-OLD Doncaster man has been given an 18 year prison sentence for a catalogue of sexual offences against six girls, aged eight to 15.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Sheffield Crown Court and pleaded guilty to 29 charges between December 2006 and May 2012.

He admitted three counts of raping a child under 13, one of attempted rape of a child under 13, 11 of sexual assault of a child under 13, four of sexual activity with a child, two of causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, two of causing a child to watch a sexual act, five of making indecent and pseudo photographs of a child, and one of inciting child pornography.

He was arrested following the discovery of indecent images and videos of young girls on his computer.

Officers searched his home and found thousands of indecent images and pseudo images of children, some portraying images of sadism or bestiality.

He made 1,524 grade one images - the most serious, 103 at grade two, 159 at grade three, 348 at grade four and 32 at grade five, totalling 2,166 pictures.

Det Con Richard Dickinson said: “This man took complete advantage of six young girls and thoroughly abused their trust. The situations and circumstances they were subjected to were appalling and totally inexcusable.

“The sentence reflects the seriousness of the offences he committed, and I hope it will enable the girls and their families, to try and move forward.”
