ANGELIC Layla Mae Hart may only be seven months old, but already she loves being in the limelight.

And the young winner of the South Yorkshire Times’ Cute Kids Competition likes nothing better than sitting and posing in front of a camera, as can be seen by the above photograph.

Layla Mae, of Rawmarsh, is pictured with her winning canvas, that was her prize for being awarded the top tot accolade from the hundreds of other beautiful babies and toddlers.

Mum Julie Hart, 37, was thrilled when she heard her little daughter had been voted the cutest kid.

She said: “Layla has this cheekiness about her. She’s always smiling and loves to be out and about, being made a fuss of.

“I think it’s her huge eyes that make her such a cute baby. Everyone comments about them and her sunny disposition. I feel really lucky to have her. She’s a joy.”

It is the first competition the family has won, added Julie, and they are delighted with the big canvas of Layla that now has pride of place in the family home in Osberton Street.

“We’re encouraged to try for a few more now,” laughed Julie.

“If the camera’s out then Layla’s got a smile on her face. She’s our superstar.”

Layla is also a big fan of her six-year old brother Joshua, and is always happy to spend time playing with him, said Julie, who added: “When he comes in from school her face lights up. They’re great friends as well as being brother and sister.”

The family, including dad Paul, 51, has always lived in Rawmarsh, where it has other relatives and friends who also enjoy spending time with Layla.

“Layla’s changing fast...there’s something new every day at this age, but I’m sure she’s always going to keep her winning smile,” said Julie.
