A landmark Doncaster pub has finally bitten the dust after the bulldozers moved in.

The Benbow on Armthorpe Road, Intake, has been reduced to rubble after lying derelict for a number of years.

There had been plans to convert the watering hole, named after Royal Navy hero John Benbow, into an Indian restaurant following its closure.

But demolition teams have moved in on the pub which has welcomed scores of drinkers down the years and was a popular and well known landmark on the road to Armthorpe.
