KEEP the Jubilee flag flying with an afternoon of patriotic entertainment at Proms in the Park.
Don’t pack away those red, white and blue outfits yet - take them along to Sandall Park for an afternoon of music and flag-waving.
Feel good spirit will rule supreme with classic British anthems from the Doncaster Concert Band.
Hundreds of well-wishers are expected to flock to the Old Golf Course area of the Barnby Dun Road park to take part in an afternoon bursting with national pride.
Organisers Friends of Sandall Park is crossing its fingers for better luck with the weather after the last two years were a complete washout.
Committee member Don Crabtree said: “We really want people just to come along and enjoy themselves. It’s a free event and it should be a really enjoyable afternoon.
“We’ve had to cancel the past two Proms in the Park because of the rain but we’re really hoping the weather will be kind to us this year.
“In the past, we’ve had up to 1,000 people attend. This is the only event we put on that raises money for the park itself and not for other groups or charities.”
The concert, which begins at 3pm on Sunday, will include a series of heartwarming Prom classics like Land Of Hope And Glory and Jerusalem, which are guaranteed to get the crowd tapping their feet.
Donations to the Friends of Sandall Park are welcome, with a raffle and flags on sale also hoping to bring in some cash for the group’s work.
Among future plans to improve the park are to introduce more play equipment and a wildlife trail.
Bring your own chairs, tables and refreshments.
