pint-sized Barnsley folk songstress Kate Rusby brings her trademark soaring vocal talents to Elsecar Heritage centre on Thursday, December 1.
Her Christmas tour marks the release this month of her latest album While Mortals Sleep, which is a mixture of traditional and Yorkshire inspired carols.
With 11 albums under her belt, Rusby has become a veteran of the British folk scene.
She needs no introduction to her legions of fans, particularly in South Yorkshire, where she grew up and retains an affinity with the area.
Sometimes receiving criticism from Folk purists, Kate has demonstrated an ability in her own self penned work, to bridge ancient and modern forms of the genre.
Sometimes known as The Barnsley Nightingale, she has headlined various British national folk festivals.
Kate is one of the few folk singers to have been nominated for the Mercury Prize.
Tickets: £15 Adult/£10 Concession. For tickets ring: Elsecar Heritage Centre 1226 740203.
