It revealed that Mexborough area pubs and off-licences have failed a total of 13 “sting” tests in the past two years.
But the council won’t say which!
The Times’ request for the names has been backed by pub giant Wetherspoon.
Their pub The Old Market Hall is on the verge of closure after under-age teenagers, sent by the council’s Trading Standards officers and police, successfully bought alcohol there three times last year.
