A FORMER teacher went back to her roots to help celebrate a school’s centenary year.

Hill House School has been marking 2012 with a host of activities including a special service at Doncaster Minster for the 100 year milestone.

Deputy mayor Coun Patricia Schofield, who used to teach at the school, was back in the classroom to talk to year three pupils about her life as a member of staff there.

There have been several other celebrations which have taken place and others planned for the future with activities including a tea party, a fundraising fashion show, the release of a nostalgic cookery book featuring 100 school recipes over the years, and a centenary ball.
