Police are urging Isle residents to drink responsibly at any summer events they attend this month.

With a large number of village fetes and community events taking place in August, Humberside Police will be releasing alcohol related facts and statistics to its followers on Twitter and Facebook to remind people to drink responsibly.

Inspector David Braysmith, who is responsible for licensing matters and reducing violent crime, said: “We want everyone to enjoy themselves – responsibly and safely this when at events and socialising.

“We know that whilst most people drink responsibly, there are a small minority that do not.”
