Isle marks Remembrance Sunday

Isle residents packed Epworth’s St Andrew’s Church as the community marked Remembrance Sunday.

Veterans, local dignitaries and the general public attended a service at the church to pay respects and remember those who died in wars serving their country.

Crosses were laid at the memorial garden in Epworth, in memory of those who had died.

Rev Ian Walker conducted a service in the church, which saw Epworth councillor Baroness Redfern taking part for the first time since entering the House of Lords. She was among those laying wreaths in the church

Serving troops, veterans and cadets joined in the parade and the service, including the traditional two minute silence.
