AN ISLE company is spreading a little bit of Christmas cheer by delving deep to provide Epworth’s town centre tree this year, and also a venue for Santa to have his grotto.

North Lincs Property Holdings Limited, based at Sandtoft Road Industrial Estate, has fought its way through the recession and continued building and developing shops and flats in the region.

It has now come to the aid of Epworth Town Centre Partnership (ETCP) to make Christmas a little bit merrier this year.

Graham Wilson of ETCP told the Bells/Advertiser: “North Lincs Property Holdings have kindly let us have the building next door to Kingham’s Deli on Albion Hill to open up as a Santa’s grotto in the run up to Christmas and it’s not costing us a penny.

“We are expecting it to be open on December 8, 10 and 15 and it’s going to be fantastic.”

Visiting children will receive wrapped presents, sweets, they can also have their picture taken with Santa and there will be reindeer food for sale too.

Leader of North Lincolnshire Council, Coun Liz Redfern said: “Epworth Town Partnership has had a heart-warming response to requests for Christmas trees and decorations to adorn Santa’s Grotto which is to be held in the town centre this December.

“Donations from Mrs Mavis Green and Mr Richard Wallis include trees, lights and baubles. One Isle resident, Mrs Joyce Spavin gave a sentimental, much beloved donation of trimmings which her and her late husband had collected throughout their life together.

“The Town Partnership would like to thank all those who have supported us.

“Despite hard time, the Christmas spirit lives on”.

A spokesman for North Lincs Property Holdings Limited said: “We are trying to put a little bit back into Epworth.

“We were brought up here and we want people to shop in Epworth and enjoy the town so that’s why we got involved.”

The company is also sponsoring the town’s 30-foot Christmas tree.
