A SINGING couple said I do, I do, I do, I do, I do when they married last weekend.

John Reilly, 37 from Wheatley, and Lisa Houlder, 29, who are part of an Abba tribute act, married at St Helens Church in Oldcotes.

The couple are part of the popular tribute act, Abba Revival, and initially started as friends when the band was formed six years ago but decided to take a chance on love just like Abba’s real couples. But the Abba theme was shunned for the wedding. The couple instead chose to entertain the “dancing queens” at their Regent Hotel reception with another two popular tribute artists.

“Elvis will be singing in the church, and then Michael Jackson along with Elvis again will be performing at night,” said John before last weekend’s nuptials.

Lisa added: “It is probably the only Abba-free Saturday night we have had all year.”

The couple did not have time to feel nervous about their big day, playing a gig in Portsmouth on the Wednesday before the wedding.

And a honeymoon will have to wait because of their packed work schedule, but plan on taking three weeks off in the winter and buying an around-the-world ticket.
