Hospital’s new theatre opens

A NEW keyhole surgery theatre has been opened at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

The first fully integrated laparoscopic theatre was opened by Joe Barnes, deputy chairman of Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Hospital bosses say the development will lead to shorter recovery times for patients.

Completed in seven weeks, the new development cost £875,000; this included £530,000 for the extensive refurbishment and approximately £265,000 for the theatre equipment.
