We had to close on Monday to have our kitchen totally refitted and the courtyard behind the shop is taking shape and looking fabulous.
We have just had our first FREENET breakfast networking meeting this morning in the Deli which was a great success. Damien Bove organised the event because he felt that it was time to have a local networking meeting on the Isle and also one that cost nothing but your time. Everyone paid £5 for breakfast and that was it! The next meeting is Thursday April 12 again at 7.30am, contact Damien 01302 623272 or the Deli 01427 875322 if you would like to attend.
Tonight is our Dinner Club Spanish Night and fully booked as usual, as is our Italian night on April 11. The Following Dinner Club is a Thai Night on April 25 - to book telephone the Deli.
Then of course we have the Epworth Spring Food Fair on Easter Saturday in the Market Place and we are hoping that you will all come and support this as Epworth is a lovely little town and we need more people to come and ‘discover’ us.
Now maybe it is me, but as far as I can ascertain hardly anyone in Epworth knew about this Food Fair until we received a letter from North Lincolnshire Council regarding the road closures and parking arrangements. It seems odd not to have invited the businesses in Epworth to take part in the Food Fair and I for one would have liked to have had a stall. Welbeck Estate Bakery who bakes our speciality artisan breads is keen to be involved in such an event as are several other of our suppliers. To be fair, Mike Harm, the owner of NE1 menswear and regular council meeting attendee, did say it had been discussed at the town council meeting. However, the public don’t know about this event either and as it is on a Bank Holiday advance publicity is essential. I shall start attending the council meetings and be well prepared for the next Food Fair as I understand there are to be three this year. Right, well now you all know about it – we will see you there!!
